There are a few farms around the outside of Flow Wind City. One of which is owned by Maria Howland, the mother of Alexander, who is about to begin a pokemon journey of his own....
It was about 4 am. The night was still outside, and the sounds of the rural wildlife were chittering and chirping away. Alexander woke up sleepily. Something had disturbed his sleep. He sat up, rubbing his eyes, and Sienna stirred beside him. A moderate glowing was coming in from the window. He peered out the window, as Sienna looked on wondering what he was looking for...
There was something out there. In the cornfield beside his mom's farm. He wasn't sure what it was, but he was definitely curious about what it was. He lifted his friend up to the window sill and asked her "Hey Sienna, do you think we should go find out what that is? It's.... glowing."
She just looked at him, unsure herself. So, he put on his shoes, prepared for the slight chill that came about during the night, and took Sienna to go out with him and hunt for the glowing mystery...

The little pokemon floated across the sky, lost as could be. He was the sea pokemon, so why wasn't he in the sea? And where was his partner Phione? He was confuzed thanks to a corporations battling him. This was the result. He flew across the sky, looking for any sign of water. Eventually he ended up in a small town, with a farm near by. As he floated by the farm, he senses another pokemon and was very careful, despite the fact he was a legendary. He spotted a corn field. He knew where there were growing plants there must be water, so he floated down. He was messy from being lost and scared, so he moved slowly. He eventually found a half full watering can and knocked it over, making quite a noise when the metal hit the ground. He touched the dirty water, absorbing it into his skin. This should be enough to make his long journey home, but he needed to rest. He laid down in the middle of the corn, glowing in the night sky. Alex and Eevee were out into the field now, still curious, as the glowing wasn't moving very much. It was fairly easy to find where the brighter part was. As they got closer, moving the rows aside with his arms, he leaned down, and could see part of it between the stalks. "It... looks like another pokemon, Sienna.... I'm not sure if it will trust me though..." So he looked towards his friend and said "You can talk to other pokemon, right?"
His Eevee nodded, with a quiet "Vee." and he said "Allright, I want you to see if you can talk to it. It looks... like it might not be here to fight."
Sienna went out carefully, and approached the blue pokemon. It watched her walk out from where it was, a small area of the corn flattened by manaphy's entry. She walked towards it and stopped about 2 feet away, and she tilted her head and ears sideways a bit, with a "Vee, ee vee?
Which of course was "Hey, are you ok?"

The manaphy looked up at the eevee slowly. It seemed to be far enough that it wouldn't attack, so he didn't attempt to fly back. "I am Manaphy, guardian of the sea. And no, I am not okay, I have lost my home and I have no water to refresh myself with," he said, floating into the air a little bit. He had to look almighty to the other pokemon. It was part of his job. Besides, he didn't like being looked down upon.
As he floated up, he spotted the human. Worried about whether he'd attack him, he froze. "Who is this boy?" he asked the eevee. The eevee seemed to be fine around the boy, so hopefully he was no threat to the guardian either.
To Alexander, the noise of the manaphy was just a bunch of high pitched squealing, loud enough to wake anyone a mile away.

"Oh! That's my friend, Alex" she said with a big smile. "We came out here to see what your glowing was. He wants to know if something is wrong too. If you.... show him that you're friendly we might be able to help you? We both live around here, in that house right there".
She smiled again, pointing her head towards Alex and his house in the background.
The pokemon was loud, but Alex was mesmerized by it. Such a new pokemon to see, such a strange voice to him. When Sienna looked over at him, he slowly stood up a bit, and walked closer, beside his eevee. He sat down beside her and said in a quiet voice "Hey, is something happening?"
The whole time he didn't take his eyes off of the manaphy, still wondering what it was saying with it's high pitched words.

Manaphy floated down to the eevee and his friend Alex. "Well, I could use some direction back to the ocean. Im very lost and my child Phione is all alone in the sea. I worry that the sea will overtake him or that he will get lost himself. I need to hurry home," he said to the eevee in his loud squealy voice. He suddenly looked more vulnerable than he let on before.
He really was a friendly pokemon. He was just in a scenario where he didn't know what to do, but if he wanted to find his way home he felt like he would have to trust this human and his pet.

"Allright, lets go to the ocean, then!"
Sienna looked back up at Alex, and nudged him with her nose. He snapped out of the trance, and didn't understand much of what she said to him at all, but she sounded like she wanted to do something.
He stood up and said "Allright then Sienna, show me what you need."
So she led him out of the cornfield, and started running down the path behind the house with a "Come on, this way!" To the manaphy. She ran ahead quite a bit, and stopped, looking back at the both of them. Alex picked up his pace to follow her shouting "Hey, wait up!" and manaphy trailed behind.
It took about a half hour of walking, but they were closer to the ocean than Flow Wind Town was. When they finally got there, Alex guessing where they were going ahead of time, he stopped and took a break from all this walking. The sand was crunching very softly under his shoes, as he thought about the times he'd been here before.
He looked at Sienna as she looked back at manaphy, and she said "Hey, is this what you were looking for?"

The manaphy watched the eevee run off. He floated up and started following him. The eevee moved gracefully along the corn and plants. Manaphy floated over them. He was weak but he was exited about getting home. Hopefully, this strange eevee knew what it was doing.
As they moved through the landscape, Manaphy could sense he was getting closer to hi home. The big body of water could be senses, although he was too weak to find it himself. He was happy for the help.
Manaphy saw the sand and went balistic. He was as happy as could be again. He went into the water, rolling around, glowing brightly as he recharged. "Yes, thank you so much eevee," he said as he came back and kissed her on the cheek. Than went to the human and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you," she put into the boy's mind.

Alex watched the pokemon give Sienna a quick kiss, her tail wagging a bit as she looked proud of herself. His eyes widened as he got the same and heard a voice in his head thanking him.
"Oh... Uh.... You're welcome? I just wanted to help since, well, you seemed like you needed it..." He grinned sheepishly...
"Oh! Will we see you again? There's not a whole lot of people living around here, and I'd like to have another friend around here..."
He was looking downwards at his feet. There was no response. He looked up, and the pokemon was gone. He was surprised, a little sad, but still happy that he helped.
Alex sat down beside his friend. "Hey, Sienna? We should go. We should go places. It was fun to go out and help other pokemon, right? Maybe if we go and explore, and maybe even do that gym challenge that's been in the papers, we can make a lot of friends!"
She responded with a happy "Vee!" and they started to walk home. The next day, Alex having slept in, he told his mother what happened during the night. She was a little skeptical at first, but she knew he was headed off for the pokemon league eventually, and she'd been hoping for that for a few years. She gave him what she could with a great big homecooked meal, and then he was off.
He couldn't take his bike though. His mom was going to need something to get to and from town, and he was more than happy to walk.
